We have an exciting in-school learning experience for our students coming up soon! On Wednesday, May 13, Grade 3 students will be exploring the Social Studies curriculum question: ‘How Is Alberta Governed?’, through an interactive program presented in-school by Teacher’s Pet.

The program connects directly to our curricular focus on provincial and municipal governments in Alberta.  During the program, students will take on the roles of community leaders to discover how Alberta is governed and how decisions are made.  Through role-playing, and hands-on activities, students will learn how local and provincial governments provide important services, including parks, schools and services to communities in Alberta.  Students will also be provided with the opportunity to simulate the making of big decisions for a simulated Alberta community.  As part of the presentation, students will also explore Alberta’s provincial symbols, and create a 3-D wooden representation of Alberta’s symbols.

The cost of this program is $16.75 per student.  Please pay for the program through MyCBE by Friday, May 1.  If the fee creates a financial hardship, please contact Ms. Lusignan, Principal by May 1.

AM 9:00-11:00: Campbell and MacPherson

PM 1:10-3:10: Colp and Bell

We will be needing 3 volunteers per class to support this program, and we would love to have you join us!  Our room parents will be creating a sign-up by the beginning of May.
