Staff officially returned on Monday morning at 8:00 AM. Since then, we have been hard at work finalizing details for our students: organizing learning spaces and planning courses, units, and lessons. Classrooms were set and on Thursday morning at 8:25 AM our teachers donned their high-visibility vests and opened the doors to the 2024/2025 school year. We would like to welcome all of our new families, and welcome back all of those returning familiar faces. We are looking ahead to a school year built on the valued traditions of Fish Creek School, and we can’t wait to get started.
Book Fair Volunteer
One of our most valued traditions is our book fairs. Our School Council is looking for a volunteer to coordinate our Scholastic book fairs this year. Scholastic has a 1 hour virtual training course to help familiarize the coordinator with the details. The coordinator will schedule volunteers and provide direction around set-up, organization, handling money, and tear-down.
Students love book fairs. Simply, they help get kids excited about reading. They also help pay for new library books. This is an opportunity to help bring an exciting event to the school and put books into the hands of children. If you are interested, or would like more information, please contact Tim Birchfield at tdbirchfield@cbe.ab.ca.
