Hip Hop Residency Is In Full Swing

We are so pleased that our students are fully enjoying the Hip Hop Residency currently at our school.  Cody is our Hip Hop instructor and it is apparent he enjoys sharing his dance with our children as much as the children enjoy having him teach. All grades are participating, and from our interviews with students, they are having a blast!

Student comments:

  • Mihayla - "It was fun.  The grafitti dances are  the best.  The instructor taught us the 4 elements of Hip Hop.  It has been fun and it is a great learning class"
  • Emily - "I liked the game"
  • Emmett - "It's pretty cool"
  • Ben - "It's okay, you get to move around and be really active"
  • Max - "It's great for the school,  The instructor is realy easygoing and it's great Physical Education.  He shows us the old DJ stuff and how to put on the moves"
  • Thomas - "I like the moves, it's cool"
  • Marie - "I like the one like DJ"
  • Brooklyn - " You do cool stuff, it's cool"

So there you have it, our students are excited to be learning the "moves".  Take a moment to ask your child about the residency and to perhaps show you a few cool moves.

Thank you School Council for bringing Cody and the Hip Hop residency to Fish Creek.

School Engagement Survey

Each year, schools in the Calgary Board of Education conduct online surveys to engage with their communities and provide and opportunity for families to directly provide feedback. This feedback helps inform decisions related to school planning, which includes the School Development Plan (SDP), budget and fees. Feedback is considered along with fiscal realities, student learning results, and other relevant data. The SDP outlines how student learning will be improved over time. This plan is updated each year based on various data sets. The school budget provides funding to implement our SDP and other supports for learning. School fees are necessary when costs for services and activities exceed available funds. Fees are applied so schools can offer a variety of services and activities such as in-school experiences, field trips, and athletics.

Please take the time to complete our survey about the SDP and school fees.
