Thank you to everyone who came out to the third annual Fish Creek Market, which was a resounding success! Students showed great creativity and everyone was able to contribute. All funds raised will go to the Mustard Seed.
Swimming
Grades 2, 3 & 4 will be going swimming next week. Please check your classroom weekly updates for times and reminders.
Lost & Found
The Lost & Found will be on display in the multipurpose area. All items left as of Friday, December 20 at 9am will be donated.
Musical Celebrations of Learning
The Grades 1,5 & 6 musical celebrations of learning will be held on December 19, 2024. As there are 3 separate performances, please note the timelines we will be following:
- 1:00pm Grade 6 Performance begins. Families should arrive at 12:45pm and enter the gym by the stairs.
- 1:45pm Grade 5 Performance begins. Families should arrive at 1:30pm and enter the gym by the stairs, once we invite you in after the previous performance has cleared
- 2:30pm Grade 1 Performance begins. Families should arrive around 2:15pm and enter the gym by the stairs, once we invite you in after the previous performance has cleared
If you arrive after your child’s performance has started, please use the ramp to enter the gym. At the end of each performance, please follow your child to their classroom for a Mix & Mingle We look forward to seeing everyone there!
Winter Break
A reminder that Winter Break is from December 21 to January 5. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Fish Creek School on January 6.
Kindergarten/Grade 1 Open House
Fish Creek School will be hosting its Kindergarten/Grade 1 Open House on Monday, January 13 from 4pm to 6pm. It is a drop in format and families are welcome to come at any time. The highlight will be a school tour by our Student Ambassadors. Additionally, the office will be open from 4pm to 6pm for any family wanting to either initiate or renew their volunteer clearance, pay a fee or get other questions answered. Please help us get the word out! Students in other grades can be accepted on a year to year basis, based on space and resources. Families can RSVP here.
Cyber Safety Presentation
On January 23, 2025 at 6:30pm Chaparral School is hosting a presentation by the Calgary Youth Link Team on Cyber Safety. Fish Creek parents are welcome to attend along with children 12+. More information can be found at this link.
FCS School Council Updates
The Fish Creek School Council and Parent Association meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the staffroom. The dates for this year’s meetings are as follows:

Lacrosse Night at the Saddledome
Join us as we cheer on Calgary’s Roughnecks Lacrosse team when they face the Toronto Rock. Our Fish Creek Community loved the ELEV8 lacrosse residency and we can now see professional lacrosse players in action! Lacrosse games are high energy and action-packed, so we're in for an exciting evening. The game is on Friday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $32 each. Family Ice Skating Night
Join us for an enchanting night of skating under the stars! It's a free event and refreshments will be provided. We will be at Lake Sundance in the top rink on Thursday, February 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule for Tuesday, February 25.
