Thank you to everyone for your support in making the third annual Fish Creek Market a success. This event brought out students’ creativity and generosity, with many items sold out. As a result, a total of $4900 was raised for the Mustard Seed. There will be a formal presentation with a Mustard Seed community engagement coordinator in January.
Another huge Fish Creek thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make swimming a success this week. Many hands make light work, especially when it comes to swimming. We know that many people came out for what can be a loud volunteer opportunity. The students loved the opportunity to be able to participate in this life skill.
A reminder that Winter break is from December 21 to January 5. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Fish Creek School on January 6.
Fish Creek School will be hosting its Kindergarten/Grade 1 Open House on Monday, January 13 from 4pm to 6pm. It is a drop in format and families are welcome to come at any time. The highlight will be a school tour by our Student Ambassadors. Additionally, the office will be open from 4pm to 6pm for any family wanting to either initiate or renew their volunteer clearance, pay a fee or get other questions answered. Please help us get the word out! Students in other grades can be accepted on a year to year basis, based on space and resources. Families can RSVP here. Thank you to everyone who has promoted this event by putting up flyers or dropping off postcards.
On January 23, 2025 at 6:30pm Chaparral School is hosting a presentation by the Calgary Youth Link Team on Cyber Safety. Fish Creek parents are welcome to attend along with children 12+. More information can be found at this link.
Fish Creek staff would like to acknowledge the generosity of the FCS Parent Council in purchasing a new Keurig machine for the school. It was said that "coffee should be a high human right." Having a functioning Keurig goes a long way to support staff wellness on a daily basis. On behalf of everyone at Fish Creek, thank you for making this happen and thinking of us.

Lacrosse Night at the Saddledome
Join us as we cheer on Calgary’s Roughnecks Lacrosse team when they face the Toronto Rock. Our Fish Creek Community loved the ELEV8 lacrosse residency and we can now see professional lacrosse players in action! Lacrosse games are high energy and action-packed, so we're in for an exciting evening. The game is on Friday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $32 each. Family Ice Skating Night
Join us for an enchanting night of skating under the stars! It's a free event and refreshments will be provided. We will be at Lake Sundance in the top rink on Thursday, February 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule for Tuesday, February 25.
