This is the time of year when we begin planning next school year’s organization, especially in terms of our enrollment and student population projections. Please fill out the Intent to Return Form whether or not you anticipate that your child/ren will attend Fish Creek School again next year. We realize that plans may change over time and would ask you to kindly let the office know in these cases, so that we may staff with accurate numbers. If you have more than one child at Fish Creek, please fill out one form for each child currently in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Please fill out this separate form for current Grade 6 students. Please have this form completed by January 24, 2025.
Thank you to everyone who helped out at our Kindergarten / Grade 1 Open House. We had approximately 60 families attend. The real stars of the show were our student ambassadors who gave tours of the school and shared what Fish Creek is all about. We would not have been able to do this without everyone spreading the word by distributing flyers and postcards.
On January 23, 2025 at 6:30 pm Chaparral School is hosting a presentation by the Calgary Youth Link Team on Cyber Safety. Fish Creek parents are welcome to attend along with children 12+. More information can be found at this link.
Along with Fun Lunch, there will be a Spirit Day of January 23. Students are invited to wear their coziest pajamas to school.
FCS School Council Updates
The Fish Creek School Council and Parent Association meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the staffroom. The dates for this year’s meetings are as follows:

Lacrosse Night at the Saddledome
Join us as we cheer on Calgary’s Roughnecks Lacrosse team when they face the Toronto Rock. Our Fish Creek Community loved the ELEV8 lacrosse residency and we can now see professional lacrosse players in action! Lacrosse games are high energy and action-packed, so we're in for an exciting evening.
The game is on Friday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $32 each. Our school will be seated in the same section (205). Please purchase tickets here: www.roughnecksgroups.com/Fishcreek .
Family Ice Skating Night
Join us for an enchanting night of skating under the stars! It's a free event and refreshments will be provided. We will be at Lake Sundance in the top rink on Thursday, February 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule for Tuesday, February 25.
We've generously received donations and / or discounts from both Tim Horton’s in Midnapore and Menagerie Parties & Cakes for this event. If you’d consider leaving a Google review, it’s a nice way to support the businesses that contribute to our school.

Fun Lunch
Thursday, January 23 is our next fun lunch. Please remember to get your orders in before the cut off on Saturday, January 18. We kindly ask that if you miss the order deadline, you don’t call the restaurant directly to place an order to be sent with the school order. Additional orders sent to us via this route are very confusing and unfortunately aren't always figured out until the child calls home looking for their lunch.
If your child will be absent on a fun lunch day, you can cancel their lunch on the Healthy Hunger website before the cut off date (the Saturday before the lunch). Refunds are not available through the school at any time or via Healthy Hunger after the cut off date. If your child is unexpectedly absent on the Fun Lunch day, please contact the school office to arrange for pickup in the office from 12:00-1:00 pm or to have it sent home with a sibling.
