Sports Day

Sports Day will be on May 30. 

  • If you are able to volunteer, please check in with your child’s teacher
  • Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather with a hat and sunscreen as well

Bicycles and Scooters 

Students may ride their bicycles or scooters to school but must walk them once they are on school grounds, including the sidewalk.    Students must also be aware of the rules of bicycle and/or scooter safety, including the mandatory use of helmets.   Locks are required for each bike or scooter and students must use the bike racks to securely stow their property. Consideration for other pedestrians is expected when students are on school property and surrounding sidewalks. Therefore, students must walk on the sidewalks and may not use/ride equipment such as heelies/shoes with wheels in the heels, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters and bicycles on school property.  The school is not responsible for the security of such equipment on school property.  

Parking Lot Safety

For everyone’s safety, we ask that families do not use the school parking lot at any time, and especially for drop-off and pick-up. This is very dangerous. We do not want students walking through the parking lot as it is often very difficult to see a child when backing up and have had near misses in the past.  Not all of our staff start and end work at the same time, so there are people coming into the parking lot at different times. 

Yaahhooo! A Pancake Breakfast 

Yaahhooo!  The Calgary Stampede will be serving a pancake breakfast to students and families starting at 8:45 am, right after drop off on Wednesday, June 4.  Grab some pancakes and some good times with our FCS Community!  

We also need parent volunteers to help the Stampede serve breakfast that morning.  We so appreciate our volunteers and couldn’t do events without you.  Please sign up through this link.    

School Council

The last school council meeting of the year will be June 17 at 7pm.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks are now available to order online at healthyhunger.ca. The deadline for ordering a yearbook is June 1 with expected delivery the week of June 16. (Lots of time for those autographs!) 

Thank you to all our young artists that submitted a piece of artwork for the yearbook cover. Wow, this school has a lot of talented kids! So talented that we couldn't choose just one, so we decided to fill a few more pages with art! Congratulations to our featured artists, Maya L, Bailey D, Willow C and Violet J. 

Our Casino Dates are Finalized

Calling all volunteers! We are fortunate to have our next Casino dates coming up Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 2025. This casino will bring somewhere between $65,000 and $85,000 to the school to help pay for things like playground upkeep and replacement, books, gym equipment, student online resources, laptops, technology, and so much more. Without parent volunteers we will have to forfeit the casino and miss out on this huge contribution to the school, so if you can volunteer, please do! 

You do NOT need school clearance and a police report to participate. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbours and anyone over 18 is welcome to volunteer.
