We hosted out first round of parent-teacher conferences this week. Orange-shirted children could be seen leading their families through our halls to visit their classrooms, and perhaps stop off at the Scholastic Book Fair on the way. To nourish our community, our School Council organized a BBQ with the generous sponsorship of MRI Autocare in Sundance. Reports suggest that as many as 864 hot dogs were served. We’d like to thank all of the volunteers, parents, students, and staff for putting together such a successful evening.

Lost and Found

The contents of our lost and found bins has been carefully and creatively displayed in our multi-purpose area. We would like to you to stop by and see if you might be able to reconnect with some of your children’s lost artifacts.

Scooter Rack

With the support of Ever Active Schools, we were able to purchase a scooter rack so that children can securely lock up their scooters at the front of the school. This rack only holds 10 scooters, so spots are available on a first-come first-served basis. If this amenity proves popular, we will seek to expand our scooter storage capacity by adding more units.

Coffee with Katrin and Tim

Please join Ms. Lusignan and Mr. Birchfield on the October 11 at 10:00 AM for coffee and conversation. We’ll be discussing education at Fish Creek School and across the province. Please contact Tim Birchfield if you have any questions, would like any specific information, or if you would like to RSVP.

Division 1 Playground

If you are supervising children who are not in school, or kindergarteners who have just been dismissed, we kindly ask that you use our playground outside of school hours. During school hours, school staff are responsible for supervising students and ensuring safe use of our playground equipment. This process can be complicated by the presence of visiting children who are not acting under the direction of school staff.
