After returning from the long weekend, students have been settling into their classes and learning has begun in earnest. New Grade 1 students are getting used to full days and Grade 6 students are getting adjusting to being the oldest students in the building. We encourage everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather this evening. We don’t know how many warm weekends we’re going to have before the weather turns cool and it’s time to sweaters and scarves.
Book Fair Volunteer
We are still looking for a volunteer to take on the role of Book Fair Coordinator. There will be two book fairs this year:
- September 23 to 27
 - March 17 to 21

Scholastic has a 1 hour virtual training course to help familiarize the coordinator with the details. The coordinator will schedule volunteers and provide direction around set-up, organization, handling money, and tear-down. If you are interested, or would like more information, please contact Tim Birchfield at tdbirchfield@cbe.ab.ca.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
On Thursday Sept. 26 and Friday Sept. 27, we will be hosting our first round of Parent-Teacher Conferences. The Thursday evening session will be an open house, giving you an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, and learn about their educational program. On the Friday morning, you will have an opportunity to share critical or emergent information about your child’s learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity to provide information that can be incorporated into Individual Program Plans for students will exceptional needs. Fifteen-minute time slots will be available for booking.
