Fish Creek School Weekly Update
We had a very busy week with our Kindergarten, Grade 1, 5 & 6 Winter Performances. Kudos to all of our performers, teachers who provided support, all under the masterful direction of our own Mrs. Hilldred. Thank you as well to all of our families that came out to watch the performances and cheer them on.
We had a cheque presentation to the Calgary Humane Society for a total of $4919.65. Students shared the importance of the Humane Society’s work and how fundraising efforts will support this. Thank you again to everyone who participated and supported our students in this worthy endeavour.
Thank you also to everyone who donated to the Veterans’ Food Drive. They were very appreciative of our students’ efforts to support their food bank and understand their cause.
Kindergarten registration for the 2026/27 school year starts on January 12, 2026. Please check with the office if you need support. Registration is ongoing as we do not have a lottery. We will also have an Open House on January 29. Details to follow in the new year.
The last day of classes before winter break will be Friday, December 19. Classes will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Wishing you a restful and relaxing break to spend time with family and friends.
FCS Parent Council/Association – Season’s Greetings
On behalf of all the members of the FCS Parent Council and Parent Association, we wish the families, students, teachers and staff at Fish Creek a healthy and joyous winter holiday! In particular, we want to acknowledge the amazing work of our teachers in fighting for our children and in all the work they do each and every day to make our school such a wonderful place.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00 pm. Our MLA, Myles McDougall and our School Trustee, Charlene May will both be attending. We’ll be discussing Fish Creek School and hearing presentations. We also plan to submit questions in advance. We’re looking forward to next year! In 2026, Parent Council/Parent Association is working on many more events, residencies, fundraisers, advocacy campaigns and enrichment opportunities for our community – stay tuned! Thank you to all our many volunteers who make this work possible.
