Fish Creek School Weekly Update
We had a beautiful Remembrance Day Assembly last week to remember those that fought for others’ rights and freedoms. Due to the timing, we will be accepting donations for poppies until November 21, 2025. If you are able to support this worthy cause, please consider donating, as schools are one source of support. Lest we forget.
In conjunction with fun lunch, our next Spirit Day is Thursday, November 20 as Mismatched Sock Day. Wear your zaniest socks to showcase your style!
Photo retakes have been rescheduled to November 27. If you would like your child to have a photo retake, please email HAHeilman@cbe.ab.ca to have their name added to the retake list.
Parent Teacher Conferences will take place November 27 & 28. Please watch for separate email for more information and how to sign up.
The Fish Creek Market has been set for Friday, December 5. Please watch for a separate email to come out.
Save the date! Winter Concert Performance will be on Thursday, December 18 at the following times:
Grade 6 – 1:00
Grade 5 – 1:45
Grade 1 – 2:30
Other grades will have a concert performance in the spring.
Schools are funded based on student enrollment as of September 30. Adjustments to the school organization and staffing assignments may have to be at that time to align resources with students’ needs.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support. The kind words, cards and gestures have made a difference. The strength of the Fish Creek learning community continues to come through.
Fish Creek Parent Council/Society Updates
Our next Fish Creek Parent Council/Society meeting is Tuesday, November 18 at 7:00 pm. We hope you’ll join us. Please send any additional agenda items to: susannemcguinness@gmail.com
Also, please mark your calendars. Our MLA, Myles McDougall will be attending our Parent Council meeting on Tuesday, January 20. We’ll be discussing Fish Creek School and hearing presentations. We also plan to submit questions in advance and we hope and we hope there will be time for additional questions from our community. We hope you will join us for this event!
Our next fun lunch is Little Caesars on Thursday, November 20. Don’t forget to place your order before the cut off on Saturday, November 15. To place your child's order please visit the Healthy Hunger website at https://healthyhunger.ca. For anyone that usually places their orders for the entire year, please note we have added Subway for June 4.
If your child will be absent on a fun lunch day, you can cancel their lunch on the Healthy Hunger website before the cut off date (the Saturday before the lunch.) Refunds are not available through the school at any time or via Healthy Hunger after the cut off date. If your child is unexpectedly absent on the Fun Lunch day, please contact the office to arrange for pickup in the office from 12:00-1:00 pm or to have it sent home with a sibling.
