FCS Updates
A reminder that in alignment with the provincial ministerial order, the CBE has an Away for the Day policy regarding personal mobile devices. This includes cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, laptops & smart watches. When families text a child and it is received on their smart watch, it becomes a distraction. Families are encouraged to keep these devices at home.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Terry Fox campaign. Students were able to reflect on themes such as courage, perseverance, resilience and learn about Terry Fox’s legacy. We will accept donations until September 25, 2026. FCS students are encouraged to bring a “Toonie for Terry” to school or donate through the Terry Fox Foundation through this link.

The Fish Creek School Fall Book Fair is coming! The book fair is one of our most anticipated fundraisers of the year and helps the library purchase new resources for our library. Last year we were able to purchase new furniture for our older students' reading area, as well as numerous new books for our library. The Fall Book fair will run from September 22 – 24 from 9:00 am -12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. The book fair will also be open during conferences, on the evening of September 24 (4:00 pm – 7:30 pm) and the morning of September 25 (8:30 am – 12:30pm). Students can come to the book fair during their regular library time or with their family during conferences. We are also looking for volunteers to help run the book fair. Mark your calendar! Orange Shirt Day will be honoured and recognized on September 29. Students are encouraged to wear orange to school that day.
FCS Parent Council & Association Updates
This year's fun lunches and snacks have now been booked and are ready to place orders. Fun lunches are available for grades 1 to 6, and the 2 snack days are available for the entire school including Kindergarten! To place your child's order please visit the Healthy Hunger website at https://healthyhunger.ca and create your account. Once created, you can add students under Fish Creek School and their class. Please note, some of our lunches have two delivery times. Only the one of the delivery times will show based on your child's lunch time. Please note the order cut off for each fun lunch is the Saturday before. If your child will be absent on a fun lunch day, you can cancel their lunch on the Healthy Hunger website before the cut off date (the Saturday before the lunch.) Refunds are not available through the school at any time or via Healthy Hunger after the cut off date. If your child is unexpectedly absent on the Fun Lunch day, please contact the office to arrange for pickup in the office from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm or to have it sent home with a sibling. Join us on Thursday, October 29 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm for Fish Creek’s Halloween Dance in the school gym for a fun evening of music, dancing, costumes and Halloween fun! Tickets are $4 per person and must be pre-purchased online through Healthy Hunger. Everyone attending requires a ticket, and students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets are limited and expected to sell out, so we encourage families to purchase early. When purchasing tickets, please select the oldest child’s name attending and purchase all family tickets under that one name. Kindergarten families will need to create a new Healthy Hunger account in order to purchase tickets. Our Snack Shop will be open with water, treats and other fun items available for cash only.
